How do I order Stripe Card Reader devices?

A step-by-step guide to buying Stripe Hardware for your business via Javelin

Stripe sells a number of devices that facilitate businesses to capture payments on the go. For example, if you are a Taxi company, you would like to have the ability for drivers to take payments from customers in their vehicles. You can now purchase these devices through the Javelin portal. Below is a step-by-step description of the buying process.

Step 1: Log into the Javelin portal

Go to https://app.javelinhq.com/admin/login, and login with your credentials. In case you've lost your password, use the "Forgot Your Password" link to reset it. If you do not have an account with Javelin, please contact your administrator to have one created for you.

Step 2: Click on the Purchase button

Once you're logged into the Javelin portal, look for the "Buy a Card Reader" link in the left main menu. This will take you a screen from where you can choose which product you'd want to buy.

Please keep in mind that you may see multiple products in this area, depending on your level of access. Make sure you buy the product whose "Country" matches the delivery country of your order. For example, products with Country: IE must be ordered only for Irish delivery addresses.

In the EXTRA INFO column you will also see what the Order limit is. For example, if the limit is 400, you can only order 400 devices in a single order. To buy more, please create a new order.

To start the ordering process, click on the "Purchase" button next to the product you'd like to buy.

Step 3: Enter your Contact information

Once you click on the Purchase button, you will be taken to a new screen. On the left hand side, please enter a name, email address, and phone number. These details will be used to coordinate the order and delivery information, so please make sure they are for a relevant party.

On the right hand side, you can choose the number of units of a specific product that you'd like to order. Please keep in mind that different devices may have different order limits specified for them, you will see an error if your order exceeds that limit.

Once you've entered the relevant data, please click on Proceed.

Step 4: Enter your Shipping information

You will now see a screen where you will need to enter the address where the delivery has to be made. In case your Billing Address is not the same as your Shipping Address, you will need to enter that info separately as well. Choose the speed of delivery you require using the Shipping Type option.

Please keep in mind that certain addresses may require the "State" field to be populated. For example, Dublin addresses need that field to be filled with "Co. Dublin". You will see the relevant errors in case your address cannot be accepted by the system.

You can change the number of devices you'd like to buy on this screen as well. You can also use the "Change" button to navigate back to the first screen and edit the name/email/phone fields if required. Once you've entered the relevant data, please click on Proceed.

Step 5: Enter your Payment information

Here on the right panel, you will now see the calculated Shipping and VAT costs for your order, which will add along with the card reader price to show you the Total payable amount. On the left hand side you will see a summary of the information you've provided, and "Change" buttons if you'd like to go back and edit any of that data. The number of devices you'd like to buy cannot be changed on this screen, please navigate back to a previous screen if you wish to do so.

Underneath you will see a payment form where you can enter your card details. Click on the Pay button to complete the order.

Step 6: Receive order confirmation

You will now see the confirmation screen, summarizing your order. You will also see a Cancel button in the right tab. This button can be used to Cancel this order while it is still processing. Once the order is Shipped, it can no longer be cancelled.

You will also receive an email on the address provided confirming your order. This email will contain a link from where you can access the order confirmation screen in the future, to check on its latest status.

Your order for Stripe Card Reader Hardware is now placed.
