It's a very common scenario where you need to take a payment from a customer, but there's no quick and easy to make that happen. That's where Javelin's Payment Links come into the picture.

The basic idea of a Payment Link is that you create a request for payment for a specific amount, say £10, and then send that link via Email, SMS, or both. The customer only has to click on the link and enter their payment information, and the funds are with you. Here's a step by step procedure:

  1. Log into the Javelin portal, and navigate to the Payment Links option in the left main menu

  2. You will see a screen with "Import" and "Create" buttons on the top right. If you do not see them, that means you need to select a company from the left top Company Selector

  3. The "Create" button is meant for individual Payment Link creation, one at a time. The "Import" button is for multiple Payment Link creation via a single CSV file

Here's how to create a single Payment Link:

  1. Click on the "Create" button to initiate the Wizard

  2. Enter the amount, change the currency if needed, and enter an optional Order ID for your own internal reference. Click Next

  3. If the customer you want to send the Link to is already part of the system, you can search for them using their phone or Email. If the user exists, their details will automatically be populated. If not, please enter their name and Email/SMS as required. Click Next

  4. On the last screen choose if you'd like to send the Link via Email, SMS or both. You can edit some of the default message content if required. Click on Send.

Alternatively you can also edit your User settings and switch on the Notification setting for "Invoice Payment Emails". This way every time an invoice is paid, you will get an email notification of the same. If you are unable to see the Users section, contact your admin team or support@javelinhq.com

Here's how to create bulk Payment Links:

  1. On the main Payment Links screen click on "Import Links"

  2. You will be taken to a screen where you'll see a link to a template file along with instructions on how to use it below. You can download this file and follow the instructions to populate the file

  3. Once done, upload the file back to this screen. If there are any errors they will be shown once you click Next

  4. Now you can choose if you'd like to send the Payment Links via SMS, Email or both, and click Send

Your Payment Links are now sent out in bulk, as before you can check their Delivery/Payment status on the main Payment Links screen, or choose to receive Email notifications when any Link is paid.

We hope this article has been helpful, if you run into any issues or have any questions while using this feature, please contact us at support@javelinhq.com

You can now see the status of the Link you've sent via the main screen, this will help you track easily when a payment is made.
